Why It Matters
Josh Dorrell’s resignation creates a leadership transition for the Wyoming Business Council as the agency continues an ongoing reform effort. The council says its work will continue without interruption.
What Happened
Dorrell resigned as CEO on Wednesday after the Wyoming Business Council’s board of directors met in executive session. His departure will take effect at the close of business Friday.
The council did not explain the reason for his resignation. Derek Smith, co-chair of the board, said members are concentrating on continuity and the agency’s future.
“The Wyoming Business Council is very proud of the work Josh has done for the agency, and the board is focused on continuity and on the council’s future,” Smith said.
Dorrell grew up in Rawlins and served as CEO for six years. He said he was proud of the foundation established during his tenure.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built over these past few years, and proud that Wyoming has a solid foundation to build on,” Dorrell said.
