San Francisco police arrested a 20-year-old man Friday morning after an incendiary device was thrown at the North Beach home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Officers responded to the residence at approximately 4:12 a.m. following reports of a fire.
Investigators determined that a man threw an incendiary destructive device at the home, igniting a fire at the gate before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported from the attack.
About an hour later, at 5:07 a.m., police responded to a separate incident at a business on the 1400 block of 3rd Street. A suspect at that location threatened to burn down the building. Officers identified him as the same individual from the earlier attack and took him into custody.
