Institute for American Manufacturing and Technology Launches Three Research Divisions Covering AI, Energy, and Manufacturing

The Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology, an Idaho-based policy and research organization, has structured its research program into three specialized divisions addressing what its founder calls the interconnected challenges of American industrial competitiveness.

IAMT, led by Executive Director Patrick J. Wolf, PhD, now operates through the Aegis Institute for artificial intelligence and compute infrastructure, the Atlas Institute for energy and power systems, and the Forge Policy Institute for manufacturing and supply chains.

“Energy, AI, and manufacturing aren’t separate policy conversations — they’re one conversation,” Wolf said. “You can’t reshore manufacturing without solving energy. You can’t govern AI without understanding its industrial footprint. The divisional structure lets us work on each domain with depth while keeping the analysis integrated.”

The Aegis Institute has published research on state-level AI governance, including a proposal for Chief AI Officer positions within state governments. The Atlas Institute has produced analysis on oil market vulnerability and energy demand projections for data centers and reshored manufacturing. The Forge Policy Institute focuses on manufacturing supply chain policy and the conditions required for domestic production capacity.

Wolf, who is based in Post Falls, Idaho, brings a background in enterprise strategy, data analytics, and emerging technology. He holds a PhD in Strategic Media and Communications, an MBA, a BS in Industrial Engineering, and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Beyond IAMT, Wolf is the publisher of American Star News and the founder of Idaho Leaders and the American Founders Institute. His full profile is available at patrickjwolf.com.
